Paradise! My wife and I satyed here and had the most fantastic time. The beach is secluded enough that a short walk is all you need to have your own piece of paradise. The Why-Not beach bar was the highlight of our evenings, with friendly staff, relaxed vibes, live music every night with optional kareoke! The rooms are different, but spacious and with beautiful views over the bay. I would highly reccomend this hotel if you want to get away from the bustle of the more 'popular' islands and truly unwind.

Lanta Experience! Booked this hotel as part of an Andaman Adventures whistle-stop tour of the region. Only stayed 2 nights but loved every minute. The hotel is very small, only having about 20 classy bungalows, and is situated on Kantiang Bay, which is quite simply wonderful – no rubbish, hawkers, jet-skis or lager louts and actually not many people at all, considering it was high season – the middle 500 metres of the beach is completely empty of buildings, which is great. Back to the resort, we enjoyed the Thai décor of our bungalow, we liked the food in the restaurant and we thought the attached Aqua Bar was excellent fun. The pool was a hit with the kids, the staff are very friendly and amazingly smiley, couldn’t find fault there. All in all a very enjoyable stay, I would recommend this hotel to families.

What an amazing place! Me and my wife stayed here as part of our honeymoon after marrying in koh samui following a recommendation from friends. We are so glad we did. The rooms are quirky, and the layout of the resort is very cool. It's right on the beach, a beach that doesn't get overcrowded so you can always feel relaxed. What really makes this place are the staff, they couldn't have done more to make our honeymoon as special as they did! Cocktails, wine, dinner on the beach, they were brilliant. Chico even put on a show on valentines night to entertain all the guests. If you are into sports, the staff will always be up for a game of football or volleyball, ensuring you are always hydrated at the same time. Such s brilliant place and we will definitely be coming back for future anniversarys. Thank you all!

Baan Lanta made our holiday! Had a great stay at Baan Lanta. The resort is very nice, good pool, nice people.

The food was excellent. We stayed there for 5 nights, travelled on, but decided to go back to Baan Lanta because we had enjoyed it so much.
Rent art-house DVDs from the Drunken Sailor around the corner to use on the in-room dvd player, have excellent seafood dinners and just relax. Good spot if you like a rustic holiday with good value.

Uncommercialised heaven! We stayed for 7 nights in Baan Lanta, after spending time in Bangkok and Phuket. It's not a 5 star resort - but then again, it doesn't pretend to be. So if you want a good value for money option on Kantiang beach, away from the full-moon loving, gyrating teenagers further north, then this is an excellent choice.

We availed of the free return transfers from Saladan and the welcome we got was great. The staff are really welcoming - always friendly and smiley and they make the place.

Overall I would say that the pictures don't do the place justice at all - it's far more atmospheric than the pix depict, with lots more greenery and flowers. We had room 8 which was the second but last from the end. It was slightly darker than the rest, but still very clean and nicely done. Each one had it's own balcony with seating which overlooked the pool and it was a great place to sit out in the sun at the start of the day.

Food was great value - there is a barbecue every night with fresh fish, which is really tasty - but if you want a change, then there is a very good local menu too.

The Aqua bar is beside the restuarant where the bar man Wud and his assistant make the place. It's lovely, is perched out on the sea and offers a really nice way to finish the day.

The sea does go out every day at about lunchtime, which means that you have to wade through the shallows to get a swim - so generally it's best to sit out in the morning and swim then - then go exploring during the afternoon.

The local village is lovely - filled with everything you could need - it's much quieter down this end of the island, but there are a couple of bars and restaurants nearby if you want to get out of the resort.

Only downside is that the breakfasts are a bit basic - but you get good options - they just aren't of the same quality as the rest of the meals.

Overall, we could have stayed for much longer. It was a great location - fantastically friendly staff, very clean rooms and lots to do. We can't recommend enough.

Very friendly hotel, wish we didn't come in rainy season! We arrived at the end of a week of brutal storms and we got a day of rain as well. We were two of 4 to 6 people staying here, but there was probably less than a dozen people staying in kantiang bay the two days we stayed here. We walked through Pimalai and only saw about 8 guests in the middle of the morning.

Now, the resort is beautifully set amongst the hillside and beach on the north end of the bay. There are 15 separate bungalows amidst the jungle type terrain. The bathrooms have fresh air exposure and the rooms are very minimal, however have a great traditional thai ambiance. The balcony overlooking the sea made for some great relaxing time.
This isnt a 4 or 5 star room, so dont expect much. There is a safe in the room, wifi is limited to their reception area. None in the rooms.

The restaurant had great food, no complaints. We did not have any breakfast.
The best part were the staff. Since there werent manyof us, it was easy to get to know them. Wood was great at the bar, lala and booboo (yes, this is what they introduced themselves as) were fun and good to talk to. They all took care of us including naan, the owner. When we wanted to leave 2 days early, she set us up with a rideto ao nang and was up at 7am to make sure we got our ride even when she had a doctors appointment to get to. Overall, i can imagine what the place and location would be like in high(er) season - fun and easy gong.
Room Tip: #15 or #4 give you a sea view and easy pool access. They have the best views without any noise.

Wonderful friendly hotel - in stunning location! We spent 3 nights at Baan Laanta and had a really enjoyable stay here. Our room was overlooking the sweeping bay and the balcony was surrounded by lush greenery. The room was of a traditional Thai style lots of dark wood with nice extras (the triangular style cushions for the floor, a window seat etc). A nice feature of the room was the bed which was elevated on a wooden plinth with nice views of the sea.

The breakfast were great and freshly cooked for you rather than buffet style. Fresh juice, fruit and a varierty of different eggs, bread and jam. We also ate in the hotels restaurant which again overlooks the bay and had several very tasty/excellent meals (we'd recommend the Massamun Curry).

This is a family run hotel and there is definitely a sense of warmth and friendliness here - we'd like to thank our friends Op, La La and Woody in the bar next door for entertaining us and for being such good fun!!!

Pool area was very tranquil and beautiful! Owners obviously take a lot of care cleaning and maintaining the area for guests.

Thanks for a great stay on Ko Lanta!!

Paradise wedding at Baan Laanta Resort and Spa, Koh Lanta! We spent 2 weeks at the resort and ended the stay with our beach-wedding with 31 guests from Denmark - all staying at the resort AND LOVING IT.

First about the resort:
Great spacious rooms, superb cleaing, great balcony, great spa and fabulous food in the restaurant. The beach bar is located right on the beach and has a great staff;-) All the staff in Baan Laanta is very cool and smiling and offers the best service.

I can recommend Baan Laanta for all type of vacation - wheather you travel with children, as a couple or just if your young people.

The weddingservice:
I can describe our Baan Laanta wedding with 3 words - IT WAS AMAZING!
Ceremony on the beach - perfect in the suncet. Set up was just the way we wanted it. And we even had an elefant joining;-)
The wedding planner (Nok) will make all your dreams come true;-)
The wedding celebrant was an american man - very good!
The wedding party/dining was ON the beach right in front of the resort - and it was excacly as we wanted it and we they set up a private beach bar on the beach for the wedding. We ended the dinner with great fireworks. After dinner we had a DJ on the beach and dancing.

So if you want a beach wedding - and want it to be kind of private - choose this resort on Kantiang Bay - then can only be perfect!

An enjoyable Resort! Koh Lanta was the second destination on our recent holiday. We stayed at the Baan Lanta , we booked with andaman adventures, they prepared a 2 week personalized itinerary (they were really great, first they asked us a bunch of questions and then they wrote this killer itinerary for us, taking into account our kids' ages and included suitable activities, definitely highly recommended ! anyway, the Baan Lanta was their suggestion and we really enjoyed this place. definitely good value for money, the kids were very happy here.
